Writer, artist and photographer Roland Hagenberg grew up in Vienna, Austria. He lives in Tokyo and Kyoto and is the author of numerous books published in Japan, Taiwan, China and Germany. Roland’s essays, travel reports and interviews are featured in international publications. He initiated “Raiding Project” – to build experimental guesthouses with renowned Japanese architects at Franz Liszt’s birthplace in Austria. His works are exhibited in galleries and museums worldwide including his legendary portraits of Basquiat, Haring and Warhol.
