EXHIBITION “ARCHITECTURE OF THE FUTURE”

Artium – Mitsubishi Jisho – presents Roland’s exhibition, which features 11 Japanese contemporary architects. On view are models, original drawings and photographs. In Roland’s 45-minute video Kengo Kuma, Toyo Ito, Kazuyo Sejima, Terunobu Fujimori, Sou Fujimoto, Astrid Klein, Mark Dytham, Ruye Nishizawa, Jun Aoki, Hiroshi Hara and Yasuhiro Yamashita address issues relating to the future: “Will Japanese traditional elements like tatami-rooms, paper screens and engawa survive?” “How much is consumerism influencing architecture?” “Are Japanese students up to the global market place?” – these are some of the questions they try to answer.
